on their respective targets relevant to the format
they have selected.

The archers have completed an "End" of 6 arrows
and have proceeded to the target under the
instruction of the Director of Shooting (DOS) to
score their arrows and retrieve them.

The archers wait patiently between ends for the
Director of Shooting (DOS) instruction to proceed
to the line. This is a good opportunity to relax,
hydrate and get in the right head-space.

About Wanganui Archery Club

History

The Wanganui Archery Club was established in September 1945. Over the years the club's membership has fluctuated, but we have always maintained sufficient interest to stay active while many others have faded away. WAC has a rich history of success, which continues to this day.

Venue

Wembley Park, Wanganui East. Entrance off Lenihan St.

Shooting Days/Times

Our normal Club shooting day is Saturday at 1.00pm

During Daylight Saving, members coaching is held on Tuesdays at 5.30pm

We also conduct 4 week Beginner Introduction courses on Saturdays at 11.30am, but this is not always possible due to club competition commitments and, of course, the weather. We usually host several major tournaments during the year and as only ANZ (Archery New Zealand) affiliated archers (or occasionally Wellington Archery Association affiliated archers) can compete in these, non-affiliated members and newcomers will not be able to shoot on those days.
